Propaganda. The bible consists of an old testament and a new testament. The old testament was a law based system for Jews which pointed to a messianic change with Jesus. The New Testament is a grace / faith based system which makes christians a christian. Most of the old testament is not relevant to christians (ex. animal sacrifices, stoning of people, etc.). A lot is supposed to be ignored by christians.

Furthermore, the meme is suggesting a work based accounting of Christians. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Clearly, the maker of meme is very ignorant of what Christianity is and what the intent of the bible is. Just another example of provocative intolerance.

This is a hypocritical statement because a lot of Christians cite old testament verses as commandments from their god to enforce rules of their religion when it's convenient

I did not say that one can't cite Old Testament. There are lots of relevant prophetic Scriptures and lits of things Jesus even cited. Furthermore, one can't use false teachers to justify attacks on Christianity as a whole. One can't also use the bad apples (which every organization - and even families - have) to attack the collective.

You are also smearing with general statements. Which Christians are you referring to? Which scripture is being cited?

Bear in mind that there are organizations that claim to be #Christian churches, but are not. They simply borrowed the bible and added to it and modified things to create a new religion. Much like a lot of crypto borrowed the original bitcoin code to create a new one. The Muslim religion is one example. The Mormon church is another.

Christianity is the Gospel given by #Jesus. Christians are those who commit to being followers of Jesus. It is not a structure. It is not rules. It is the Word. It is the Creator revealing himself and guiding us towards His original plan for us - and away from a destructive and deadly natural state brought about by rebellion and disobedience.

There are a lot of things we can do that align well with this natural state. But the end result is ultimately death and suffering. The result is both a cause and justice served for what it caused.

One can choose to believe what one wishes. There are consequences to this though and for the most part one is delusional if not realizing these are simply personal fantasies.

The DNA helical structure proves (even to last century's renowned atheist Anthony Flew) that we have a Creator because it is programming code. DNA replication occurs because there is a machine enabling this. So the program has a programmer and the design has a designer.

The evidence shows we don't have a dead beat dad, but a Father who has consistently tried to guide us away from our natural corrupted tendencies. The #bible is a record of this mostly since the Neolithic age. Many world cultures carry hints of their common origin before this with their All Father, flood myths, etc. We are taught though that through Jesus order will soon be restored, things will be made anew and our Creator will dwell among us.

Gone will be the hypocrisy, false teachings, and evil behaviors you've come to loathe. The fact that you (and others like you) post about Christianity shows that you and they are searching but under conflict because of what you see in others. This means there is hope for you.

Those who have rejected #God are spared (thanks to His great mercy) of this conflict in their heart by the great delusion referred to in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. However, these latter people will have to face justice for the great evil caused by the rebellion they joined.

The peace you are seeking only comes from reading the Word. Not from others or the organizations they support. I suggest starting with the Gospel of John and then the Gospel of Matthew (skipping over the genealogy at the beginning for now). Paul's letters of Romans and Hebrews have great benefit next - albeit 2 Peter and 1 John are great shorter reads and might help first. Rest are at your interest and pleasure.

The Mandalorian stole from the bible. Christianity was the first to known as 'the Way'. I am no better than you or anyone else reading this. I am a reasonably smart fellow who has searched for many years and concluded that the bible holds the truth for us. Even the intellect Jordan Peterson stated that is probably correct.

Peace to you. I hope you shed your hard feelings and focus more on the Word instead of those who claim to be followers of the Word - including me. Skip propaganda wars.
