Vecchio's "Afro Rock" is one of the more sought-after library records of the 70s and for good reason. It's a sensational piece of jazz rock, similar in some ways to Mandingo but with a slightly smaller band and more emphasis on soloing. Luis Vecchio did one more album in the late 70s (also worth checking out) and then apparently became something of a con artist according to the comments below a blog post I read on him back in the day. The thread was a strange mix of people lauding "Afro Rock" as the greatest library album of all time and others vowing to piss on his grave because he bilked their grandma out of $50k.
