The belief that a life is more valuable if it contributes actively to the economy is a lie peddled by our masters. There is nothing natural about life’s cooperation with a market. If a life can be content by living on its own, caring for its own needs, interacting with other creatures in an equitable way, then it should do that. No other species allows a select few members to drive their day to day lives.
