As expected Reddit has won the battle with moderators but has likely lost the war. By shutting down the APIs, moderators have lost tools that supplemented the poor tools from Reddit.
Secondly, recruiting future moderators will be harder as it’s now clear they are not appreciated by Reddit but instead treated like indentured servants.

I won't ever return to Reddit. After 15 years they've finally showed me they don't need me there.
