Googled “Bitcoin” to see what the news say about it in Italy, and the headlines always include the word “scam.”
Even worse, read about two people who got scammed out of their life savings under the guise of “Bitcoin investments” and they took their own lives.
This is why we need more Bitcoin education.

A friend called me the other day because his dad wanted to invest in a new “Canadian government backed crypto”. Whatever that means.
He’s a successful man, not a dumb man, but he was ready and willing to “invest” in this fake coin. Which to the inexperienced boomer, is just synonymous with Bitcoin.
I said get your dad off Facebook before he loses your inheritance.

Very true. Boomers are particularly vulnerable to these kinds of scam, unfortunately, because they don’t understand Bitcoin and assume all cryptos are the same. It’s sad.

Fuck Italy and it's mafia state, they raised cap gains tax on Bitcoin to 33%, all tax money gets stolen by the suits and the population is a bunch of degenerate serfs who beg for their own enslavement
Lots of corruption and ridiculous taxes here, agreed. Though the cap gains on Bitcoin shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you’re a low time preference bitcoiner.

True about the time preference, but in comparison to the czech republic they abolished it all together a week earlier.

I hate the MSM too, but not reading the news doesn’t mean these things don’t happen.
Some people believe the headlines, others try to do their own thing but they’re still uninformed and end up falling victim to scammers.

Oh yeah, don't disagree with that. Education is so important! Educating people to question the MSM is a good start and it gets them inquisitive instead of just being passive and absorbing what they see with no analytical thinking or questioning things. I have a mother-in-law that gets her news from nothing but CNN and a dad that listens to nothing but FOX. It is so hard to get them to question anything they hear 😞
Yeah, it’s sad when they fail to realize they’re being brainwashed.
Encouraging them to question everything is key. If you can then prove to them that you were right when you first told them to question something, even better 😅

Tragedies like this show why we need to shout from the rooftops , Always verify, never trust blindly. Bitcoin isn’t the problem. it’s the predators exploiting ignorance. Let’s normalize asking questions and learning before investing.
The more we spread the message, the more likely people are to hear it and learn a thing or two.
Pretty much the same in Spain. This narrative is heavily pushed all across Europe. Also the deliberate use of the word crypto to refer to Bitcoin whenever that helps that narrative.
