it's not really so much about the colour it's about the history
my grandfather did medical service instead of combat because of religion, was a thing in NL back in WW2... he was assigned first to korea and then to indonesia and in indonesia he met my grandma... and so, my point is that a lot of this mixed stuff is people who are misfits in the society they were born into with the opportunity to migrate - or were forced to migrate, like then after my dad was born, then the indonesian muslims went mad and drove out the dutch and my dutch grandfather became a refugee to PNG and then got asylum in australia
and the reason he did all this was because he was seventh day adventist and at a hospital (my opa's father was the dean of nursing at Apeldoorn during the war) my mother met my father, a seventh day adventist hospital called "The San" as in sanitarium
here were i am in #madeira i see lots of signs of this kind of migration, my local barman was a portuguese south african, fled the country in the late 90s to set up a bar here in madeira in 1998, and another neighbour i met the other day, yes, south african...
i'm sure there is literally millions of stories like this and a lot of us bitcoiners and nostriches are from these stories
