Unfortunately, with the current administration, it's unlikely that things will go well. Trump would have to blackmail both of them in order to get them freed, because that's what he did to Ross.

Ross was blackmailed (what dirt Trump has on him, that I don't know) in order to be pardoned, and that's why we've seen the suitcoining ritual he underwent at the BTC Conference earlier this year.
