Remember when #Nostr was going to solve the spam/bot problem?

I'd like to be able to charge a one time admittance fee for other handles to interact with my content (like, repost, comment), with my posts being read only until then.

I suspect that would eliminate most of the automated spam I run into on Nostr today.

Would be a great feature. There are less bots that get through on nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg7waehxw309ahx7um5wgkhqatz9emk2mrvdaexgetj9ehx2ap02g87q0 and the experience is way better than Damus

Mileage seems to vary. I don't have any bot spam on Primal at all, meanwhile others in the AskNostr feed clearly have a ton on Primal. I don't really use Damus, so I can't speak to that, but others are saying they have no spam at all on Damus:

For most clients, it's going to depend heavily on what relays you are reading from, not what client you are using.
