As it turns out... Étouffée was invited by the Shtick family back the 1870s. The original recipe was divided amongst the descendants to ensure that no one family member had the complete recipe. You need at least 2 Shticks to properly replicate the original recipe handed down through the generations. Due to a clerical error at Ellis Island, the Shtick family name was accidentally changed to "Stick". ...and just like that, Bob is your uncle.
