please use a VPN when using nostr. actually, you should really be using a VPN all the time, no reason not to (even banks and stuff now have been more lenient with them)
if you're an apple user, apple literally provides a free one (iCloud Private Relay) that is actually quite good. it's not technically a VPN but it does mask the IP -> site visit mapping

vpn is only really useful to workaround a geo-block
doesn't protect your ip from leaking when initially connecting to sites, database gets uploaded to a centralised server from the gov with most vpn providers + the free vpns are free for a reason
i hear tor is the way (app Orbot/tor supported browser e.g. brave tor browser)
