I don't think I have little regard for it, but one could argue that I'm chasing comfort and stability, and if a significant other and children get in the way, then jettison the concept of a wife and kids.

*Also why would you look for better solutions if you have no children to give it to?*

In a purely seflish sense, I need better solutions from other people so I can attempt to live a first world lifestyle.
