Today on #motomountain, I am working on "properly" angling and mounting our #bitcoin #mining #solar panels. To get them all angled consistently and off the ground where they can get trampled on by cows. It's going to be a lot of work but I got the first 2 done. All using random materials we have lying around

I'll be sharing a video soon about my ridiculous process.

Nice work

tethering and staking to prevent the wind from flipping them is not the worst idea. 🤷

my 2 cents…

I am probably going to add feet and stack large rocks around the them. Maybe some staking as well. This are is super rocky so it's tough to do.

I’m making 3.8 kW right now. ☀️

Nice. Do you have pictures of the setup? Is it on a house? Grid tied or no?

It’s a grid tied Tesla system on my house. 5.4kW in panels and 2 powerwalls.

Those are really nice. My setup is very low tech in comparison. I like that I am off-grid though. I don't like giving my extra power back..

Yeah, I live in California. I got it right before they switched to NEM 3.0. I’m grandfathered into NEM 2.0 until 2043. Getting solar isn’t even worth it in California anymore. I basically have no power bill though.

Proof of work! Congrats, I want to see the whole solar farm ☀️

This is how it looks for now. 60 panels I'm this setup for mining. We also have other setups for hime use. I am going to be mounting the rest if these in the coming weeks.

After that I would build some shade.

I am using 22 panels for an outdoor living space built off of our main dwelling. Kind of a sun room with no flooring. It's shade that also brings us in plenty of power.

Nice! 👍

how is the clay content in your dirt?

the ability to build with cob and earth is one of the things im jealous of with desert living.

I'm not sure. It's very rocky on our property. We are planning to use tires and other materials to make an earth ship sanbag house hybrid. It's all kind of figure it out as we go.

Looks good. I was wondering about provisions for the wind. Would like to have a plot of land like that.

I am. Planning on doing something to anchor them better. Probably just add feet to the legs heavy rocks. Easier than trying to stake them down in this ground. We have plenty of rocks.

How much electricity are you getting?

Yes please share a video soon.

Very interested
