The co-founder of GitHub was just banned from Github. We need a decentralized GitHub on Nostr!

What happened? Did he do anything or is it a case of infighting?

How does the co founder get band wow!

WONDER IF HE REGRETS SELLING TO MICROSOFT

Not sure how much the founders were diluted after 3-4 rounds of capital raise, but $7B+ exit buys a lot of corn. Nevertheless, I’d bet there are always some regrets.

Any chance you could get him on a episode and talk about freedom tech?

WOULD LOVE THAT. IF ANYONE HAS AN INTRO LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN. 🫡

Github is a centralized point of failure. Open source projects need a decentralized "home" fast!

Git is already decentralized. All we need is a decentralized communication platform around the code.

This is what I'm trying to achieve with https://gitworkshop.dev

Really interesting. Are the files of git repos stored on relays?

Not sure how it works, found about it in some of notes. Not even catch who dev is...

Dev here. The collaboration surrounding the repository is done using nostr events. Proposed changes are also stored in nostr events. This way, maintainers can change the underlying got server they are using without losing the history of the collaboration.

Definitely need a decentralized GitHub.

Looks like it's back. Nothing to see here move on.

We just need to add nostr relays to gittea.

That is hilarious & not surprising in the least.
