How will your family HOLD your Bitcoin when you die? Collaborative multisig can give very high confidence that your family can do a one time recovery, but no one in my family is willing to maintain that setup long term if I die. I currently have no solution for that. Does a KYC option like Anchorwatch(at least still self sovereign) or even an Onramp (fully custodial but custody split between 3 institutions in different countries) become the best of tough options?

When you pass away, if they have your keys, they have your coins. It's that simple🤷🏻‍♂️.
I don’t think it’s that simple. Normies don’t want to do geographically distributed self custody multisig. It’s a lot of responsibility for something they are often not passionate about themselves. In reality if it’s high effort and shitty UX for your heirs they likely just sell and move on. Multisig and self custody in general are not set it and forget it. Requires maintenance and work.
I fully agree with what you're saying but my point still stands. They have your keys, they have your coins, if they are unwilling or unable to do with them what is prudent, it's their fault, not yours.
Gotcha, totally fair. My pie in the sky goal with exploring this is to figure out how to ensure great grandchildren still hold the keys too.
