Saint Visarion, a humble monk from Lainici Monastery, faced persecution for defending Orthodox faith and Romanian identity in the 1940s. Arrested by the communist regime for his unwavering beliefs and patriotic stance, he endured torture and imprisonment. Even in the face of immense suffering, Visarion never compromised his faith. He died in prison, a martyr for Christ.
