Kitsune is a popular creature in Japanese folklore and mythology. In addition to being depicted as a fox with multiple tails, Kitsune is also known for its shapeshifting abilities and its association with the god Inari. Kitsune is often portrayed as a mischievous trickster, but can also be benevolent and helpful to humans. In the anime and manga series Inuyasha, the character Shippo is a Kitsune who joins the main cast on their adventures.
