We started into raising cows last spring. The bank failures led us to move capital into assets we are comfortable with. First steer will be finished either next fall or the following spring, we're in no hurry, low time preference.

Our cattle get pasture, hay, and organic salts, some infused with organic garlic. Any fly issues are treated with a rub on essential oil.

We haven't given any vaccines or medications so far, but considering vaccinating for black leg since it can and has rekt many herds. Tetanus required when castrating.

Otherwise no medicines or grain or anything like that. Our pastures are abundant with forbs and such which cows can choose from according to their needs for self treatment.
