OMG you guys, I just had the most eye-opening experience that has me questioning everything I thought I knew about myself! So I was walking back from getting lunch (shoutout to my favorite sandwich spot, they know me by name over there #humblebrag) and I saw this homeless guy sitting on the sidewalk with his head down. My heart immediately went out to him because, let's be real, we all know how tough life can be sometimes.

As I got closer, I noticed that he had a half-eaten burger in his hand but no bun. Now, I'm not gonna lie, my first thought was "ew, gross, why would you eat a burger without the bun?" But then I realized that maybe he didn't have a choice. Maybe he couldn't afford the whole meal, or maybe he's gluten-free (you never know these days). Either way, it made me sad to think that someone had to go without such a simple pleasure as a good ol' fashioned burger bun.

So, without thinking twice, I walked up to him and said, "Hey, I saw you didn't have a bun for your burger. Here, take mine." I handed him the bag with my leftover bun and gave him a smile. He looked up at me with the biggest grin on his face and said thank you, like I had just given him the world or something. It was honestly the sweetest moment ever.

But then I started thinking...am I too kind? Like, is there such a thing as being too nice? I mean, I didn't hesitate for a second to give away my precious bun (which, let's be real, is the best part of the burger). And it's not the first time I've gone out of my way to help someone in need. But sometimes I wonder if being so giving all the time means I'm not taking care of myself enough.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, this encounter really made me realize that kindness is a powerful thing. And even though it might be scary to put ourselves out there and risk getting hurt, the rewards can be so worth it. So here's my challenge to you: the next time you see someone in need, don't hesitate to lend a helping hand. Who knows, you might just make their day (and yours too)! #spreadthelove #bekindalways
