During a time of intense persecution against the Orthodox #Faith, Bishop Joseph steadfastly defended the Church. When authorities demanded he cease his ministry, he refused, continuing to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in secret and to guide his flock. Arrested and imprisoned, he endured torture and hardship, yet never wavered in his confession of #JesusChrist. Even in captivity, his example inspired other prisoners and strengthened their resolve. After his release, he continued to serve, becoming a beacon of hope and resilience for the faithful.
