Nope. Ross was actually a great example of harm reduction.

There’s also the outrageous case of a federal agent who prosecuted him going to prison for actually stealing bitcoin from Silk Road!

Fitting

I wonder if they were dismissed with prejudice, thus can never be brought again?

Exactly. Considering how many tens of thousands of people in the US has gotten hard jail time for non-violent substance offenses, Ross is and must be considered a hero.

Amen 🙏🏻

There are whole departments in the addiction field dedicated to harm reduction.

There are also organizations like Dance Safe that test drugs at raves.

NARCAN saves lives.

Nothing wrong with these things.

goodness me......he developed an online marketplace......people buy illicit goods all the time using e-commerce......no one seems to notice.

Some are addicted to Amazon 🤷‍♀️

precisely......Amazon sells great stuff..........and you know....stuff that is not so great.......but lets all celebrate Bezos.

Thx for reminding me I need to do an Amazon return

He broke the law but the sentence in no way matched the crime.

No. CP, people and (unfortunately) guns were not allowed on Silk Road. Basically it was just drugs and bootleg DirecTV cards.

Directv cards? Where there cable boxes too??!

I'm sure. Back in those days if you had a box you just needed a working card. I remember seeing lots of cards, lots of (legal) porn site accounts and stuff like that. Also legal stuff, books and things.

I should say, I honestly never bought anything on there. But I heard about it, checked it out, thought it was absolutely amazing. It was my first introduction to bitcoin.

I missed out on that.
