Year after year, the fight for sound principles no matter the politics or tribe gets harder and harder.

People want freedoms for their tribe, but not the other.

But the American experiment was founded on universal principles and freedoms that do not get a vote, and do not change, but are innate and god given and etched into eternity as the basis for a liberal democracy.

Do you think free speech is a human right, observed by the US? Or a special right granted to citizens of the US?

Because many Republicans are arguing free speech is an American right, and if you’re not a US citizen, that right does not apply to you.

So that’s why it’s ok to deport foreign students here on visas or green card holders that protest against US policies, while inside the US.

I think it’s important to make the distinction since the same people that would deny a noncitizen the right to free speech are simultaneously turning Charlie Kirk into a martyr for free speech.

Free speech is an inalienable right observed by the U.S. for all people. Not just citizens

I agree
