There was a saying about trying the same thing over and over again while expecting different outcome. I left social media years ago and never thought about returning. Some people are gluttons for punishment, I guess.

I also quit X long ago because of the banning and shadowbanning.

After my 3rd ban I created my Nostr keys. I think after the 5th ban I stared using Nostr regularly.

After being banned couple more times I completely abandoned X.

There certainly are interesting people on X and I would recommend to you using Xcancel to just read people on X who are interesting to you.

That way you route around the fucking algo and the bans too (if you have had problems with it).

I wasn’t shadowbanned and had a decent reach on Twitter (4k+ followers). The wake up call for me was when one night instead of chatting with my wife about nice things, I was busy arguing with anon retards for *hours*. The next day I deleted my account, and I’ve been on Nostr ever since.

My problem was not about the reach but about the suppression of free speech.

I often got banned after posting about Bitcoin in ECB or similar thread or posting something about Israel.

And I had more hope that Elon will fix even better the shit that Twitter had turned into.

I actually joined X after Elon bought it.
