I don’t know what we miss when
someone dies and leaves us. It’s
not easy to identify all the feelings
that flow through us. Loss, grief,
loneliness, sadness, despair, and
the emptiness of not being able
to hold the person we lost. Life
at its very best is fragile. This
fragility is multiplied when we
see and sense our own demise.
Here is where the joy of missing
someone we love comes into
play. We remember the bright
and lovely moments we shared.
The laughter, friendship, and love
of being together. The smile we
still see, the voice we still hear,
and the hugs we still feel are
remnants of what remains.
These single moments are what
revive us. To push us to live
again in the shadow of the one
who’s gone but still here…
