Nothing like a long power outage to make you realize how good we had (and still have) it here in the U.S. So many things we (I) take for granted. Power to charge electronics. Internet/WiFi for entertainment. Coffee grinder. Modern appliances. Freezer for meat. Lights. Heat. Necesseties just up the road in every form. Gasoline to power our stuff and in plentious supply. Friendly neighbors to help and be helped by.

The free market, and liberty, gave us most of this. Western Civ gave us most of this.

Why would anyone want to destroy these Blessings of Liberty?

Some combination of arrogance, conceit, ignorance, and an anti-human worldview.

Hyypocrisy test is as follows: ask the anti-energy folk if they live without grid electricity, and gas supply, coal / oil gas electronics, if they buy goods transported by fossil fuels, or if they flights or car rides.
