In The Jungle Book (2016 film) the bad guys were the animals who were opposed to Mowgli's presence living among the animals. Nearing the end, the immigrant Mowgli starts a fire that destroys the jungle, but it is Shere Khan who is seen as the antagonist for pointing out the obvious from the beginning, that Mowgli did not belong there. The “happy” ending for Disney is that Shere Khan dies.
