Our generation suffers from so much emotional distress because we love celebrities and the world online, more than ourselves and the life around us.

We show so much love and support to celebrities that we don’t personally know, but we are not this way to the rest of the world who are within our reach; especially ourselves. The love you are meant to give yourself, you give away to someone who appears on a screen for the most part of your life.

Furthermore, the Internet makes us forget that our life is happening now in the physical world. We rarely appreciate what’s going on around us. We are almost wired then, to love a world that’s not happening in the present moment – thus, our obsession with thoughts about the past and future, which create emotional distress and anxiety.
