The best advice anyone ever said to me was : "Christians go low."

This can be applied to probably any context, and it shouldn't only be for Christians.

Water seems to compete to be the lowest. We've found aquifers full of water, and even bigger aquifers under the floor of the ocean. But water even goes lower than that - it serves all other chemicals by becoming a solution with them. In a physical sense, it makes no demands, so it can accommodate anything. In this sense, water is similar to the mountain in the previous chapter.

Esoterically, both water and mountain have a specific meaning. The mountain is your spiritual journey, and the way up the mountain is the path of humility. The summit is wisdom. Water is both spirit and the unconscious potential, from which form emerges. Pouring out the water is the same as climbing the mountain - the pouring is the act and state of humility, and it makes space for new things to flourish. Go low.
