Shout-out to the S&P 500 which, since 1959(!), is up a total of 37% relative to #gold and up 41% relative to the US M2 monetary supply.

Said another way, the appreciation of gold, US stocks, and the US M2 monetary supply are all about the same over long periods of time.

Nominal gains are an illusion... 👀

To increase your purchasing power over time, you need to outpace the ever-increasing M2 monetary supply.

You do you, but I recommend #bitcoin.

It would be interesting to see how well income and compensation relative to these assets has performed since 1959.

What’s going to trigger the next round of QE (or emergency liquidity boosting action from the Fed)? Since there are those who say there is no recession imminent, why would the Fed stop taking dollars out of the system? What will cause interest rate action?

That is an insane chart!👀

Imagine assuming that all the technologically-driven productivity gains from the last 65 years have only resulted in a net 37% gain.

The fiat system can't efficiently distribute the benefits of increased productivity to the masses, or not even to thos who pulled the most weight in increasing humanity's output and increasing our quality of life. Instead, the fiat system concentrates those gains within the Cantillionaire Class.

You do you, but I chose #bitcoin.
