Yeah… and? They deserve it.
I don't really understand why everybody is so surprised about it.
For the last couple of months markets, including BTC markets, have been playing a game of chicken with the FED and trying to get ahead, pricing in not only a stop to the hikes, but even cuts.
Based on what? No one could say -- yes, "they have to, otherwise they will break the banking system" fantasy comments, as if breaking the banking system to facilitate further consolidation, i.e., local and regional banks being eaten up by the five-six megabank cronies of the bipartisan mafia.
... as if [...] wasn't a welcome outcome, if not a perfectly planned on, even.
Seems they think that because BOJ holds more than half of its own debt that everyone can play the same game.
In 08 when things broke it happened quick but not so quick that they couldn’t respond. This time round things are going to break and cascade and they’ll be clueless how to stop it when it kicks off for real
The hikes got nothing to do with combating inflation anymore. The actions are driven by more nefarious intentions of the central bankers.
Don't listen to what they say; but observe what they do -- Paul Samuelson.
