Mostly everything connected to government closes except essential services. Museums, parks, social services all close. Social security is not paid to the elderly, government contracts are not paid. No new contracts opened. No new hires. It’s a mess.

I am a bit surprised at the Republicans who are pushing for the shut down because it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that:

A. They won’t get what they want by doing this because the Senate is Democrat controlled and half the Republicans won’t support them anyway.

B. It’s likely to leave a bad feeling with some voters that they need in one month as KY LA MS NJ PA VA all have state elections November 2023. 🤦‍♂️
