Some clients let you delete

I'm on Amethyst and it allows "request deletion" but sometimes it shows back up.
Some of my spelling errors are too egregious.
Yet I believe they still exist somewhere.
I think I have to get an android phone for that client? Also, I think it request deletion. But each node decides if it wants to truly delete or not. (I may be wrong)
Yeah I'm on android. And yeah, They likely still are on relays. And out there
I just don't have to see them I guess 😅
I wonder though if long term some of the requested deletions will eventually be purged from more relays for storage reasons? If they had to start somewhere and clients can see other clients requests?

Yes, Amethyst (and any client with deletion functionality) sends a request to relays to delete. Ultimately it is up to the relay to decide whether or not it will be deleted. The best the client (Amethyst) can do is try and hide it from your own view. If it does get interactions such as likes or comments , I think it show back up for you
