I received a Start9 server but didn't have time to set it up until yesterday.

From the screenshot, you can see that I'm still in the process of downloading the blockchain.

Up until this point, setting up the hardware and remotely connecting to it was so easy, a six year old child can do it!

- Connect ethernet cable

- Connect power supply -> device turns on

- remotely connect with mobile and set up password

- Install Bitcoin Core and start downloading the blockchain.

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Will update again after the download ends.

Do you have any experience with any other all-in-one nodes to compare it to? Like umbrel, mynodebtc, etc?

Umbrel, yes, it's running on my old laptop now.

I also have a raspiblitz but haven't opened the box yet.

Curious to know your thoughts/comparisons on those 3 once all are set up and running for a few days!

It might be a really long time until I use the RaspiBlitz because two nodes are more than enough for me (I received both, the Start9 and RaspiBlitz, as gifts)

Dang nice. Well if you feel like gifting it to a fellow pleb to introduce me into the node running worldπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚

I’ve looked into getting one before but never pulled the trigger. I want to though, money is just super tight right now.

You managing lightning channels too or just your own transactions?

I'm doing it all!

Good for you man. Well enjoy them!

I will compare Umbrel and EmbassyOS (already installed on a device) so far:

EmbassyOS: Unbox, connect 2 cables, remote connect, set password, install Bitcoin Core and download the blockchain.

Umbrel: Format HD, install Ubuntu, install Umbrel, install Bitcoin Core, download the block.

Winner here: EmbassyOS

Thank you for the update

Good to know. I’ll keep it in mind before I decide.

Thanks for that zap bro!!πŸ«‘πŸ€™πŸΌ

Did it auto update core to the latest version?

Not yet as I'm still downloading the blockchain. Will update Core once that's done.
