I thought that all of the developers would become serfs, but it's actually the opposite: most of users become serfs and a surprisingly large subset of the developers remain Freemen.

I always wondered how some people became serfs and some became Freemen. It wasn't poverty alone, as some people preferred to starve or live in exile, rather than join serfdom.
