My one contention with this is largely that of semantics.

Excuse me, but no, wrong, false. Anyone who works in software will tell you software is never "done", it is never "completed". Software is either replaced or it is in a process of developing even if that process is imperceptibly slow.

Okay all that said, I agree with the overall sentiment, Bitcoin doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles. Just any necessary security patches, bug fixes, or potentially improvements to the currently existing feature set, but that's it.
