I pray the ceasefire holds

I pray that those who want peace on either side of this war can lead the way

I pray for all of the innocent lives lost, regardless of where they come from and for their families

I pray that those who sought violence over discourse, war over peace, and hatred over love can repent themselves and choose a better path

I pray that those who lost their homes, who were displaced, and have lived in fear can return home and rebuild

I pray for the children who deserve a better life than one of war and strife

I pray for the peacemakers who sought to create this ceasefire in the wake of incredible pressure to continue a war

I pray today can be the start of a new future, instead of the continuation of a long and bloody past

Regardless of who you pray to, or if you pray at all, I hope we can all see the value of peace over war.

Was the issue of Mideast Peace solved today?

No, it wasn't.

Will a path forward towards peace be easy?

No, it will not

But it's the necessary path that must be taken to see a better future
