The EOS Network Foundation has launched Spring 1.0 and introduced Savanna, a new consensus algorithm designed to improve finality, scalability, and security for the EOS blockchain. Savanna aims to deliver instant finality, reducing time-to-finality from three minutes to one second using BLS signatures. The update also includes pipelining and voting mechanisms that enhance speed and scalability.
