Haha yeah… it might mean they would feel bad charging you what they need to make.
They just don’t know how loaded you are.
Not loaded but don’t mind paying for people’s time when I don’t want to do something myself. They can always just quote an I don’t want to do it either, but everyone has a price amount.

As a contractor myself, it’s 100% because we don’t feel right (and won’t) charge what would make us happy to do it.
And getting a quote is a bad idea too. The time it takes to make a quote we could have practically done it. And we need to aim high with the quote in case it takes longer than expected.
The best bet for small things is to have a handyman that you trust, and he can invoice you after the job.
