do you think it's better to:

A. try and onboard "regular people" into things like matrix/simplex/etc away from things like discord/telegram and other proprietary spaces

B. make friends starting from FOSS spaces (like here on nostr)

Defintely B because in these FOSS spaces there will be more people that think and act like you do.

To suceed with A you have to onboard "normies" who have strong negative emotions against the status quo.
