I used to wonder about this...my default position is I want to be able to go anywhere, so so should other people. Equally, however, I don't think it'd be polite to just rock up somewhere and expect to be able to share their resources. Entering with permission is essentially asking before hand "may I share your space, may I share your resources?" Which is just kinda good manners.
It's strange that most of them are adult males. It's feeling like an invasion. We can do better than this. We need to make the naturalization process easier and tighten our border security. I don't mind people coming in, but we need it legal. Mass amounts of unchecked immigrants can cripple a nation.
