Hi nostr, oh its been a busy day. I went to help out at the church office this morning, helping to organize a bunch of files and stuff. Then i spent some time making some homemade dog food, plus all the other daily chores. My husband has been busy shelling a bunch of pecans we got this year, then i plan to vacuum seal them in jars. I've done this before and it works really well to keep them fresh. So a great day overall, and i'm pretty tired. Yall have a good evening nostr friends. Stay happy, healthy, and free. #grownostr #homesteading https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/8d9d2b77930ee54ec3e46faf774ddd041dbb4e4aa35ad47c025884a286dd65fa/57a987738b02742addd98a672008e1013d8ff4763cae43b8a93a7e57833e7b92.webp

Are those from your trees??

No, i wish they were. I have had no luck with pecan trees here, starting to wonder if our soil is too acidic for pecans.

They love our heavy clay soil here- slightly alkaline.

We gave out about 20 pints from our trees as Christmas presents this year. Still have many buckets of them to shell (from only 3 mature trees)

I'm jealous! At our old place we had mature ones, and i really miss those trees because i love pecans.
