i stopped drinking alcohol many, many years ago. any time i’ve subsequently bought wine or beer, it’s clear that alcohol is pointless.

i stopped consuming coffee daily a year or so ago, even though i absolutely ~LOVE~ the aroma and the depth of taste it adds to chocolate milk.

& gonna quit weed again. weed is good for treating v specific problems like insomnia, lack of appetite, pain, etc. it’s also somewhat nice to relax & chill.

Was quitting alcohol and coffee worth it? I mean, do you notice any major differences?

I have a little of both daily. It helps me get through the monotony of the desk job.

I know what you mean. My chocolate latte’s were such treats in the day!

With alcohol, I just stopped drinking at some point and never missed it. I can see how it’s relaxing to unwind, but it’s a little different for Asians who don’t metabolize alcohol well.

In general too though, I’m pretty sure alcohol messed with my sleep quality, and it’s extra, non-nutritious calories to consume, and damages/tires out the body.

Coffee took lots more effort to quit (still drink it occasionally). But, now I like how my overall energy is actually greater, and I don’t feel worn down later in the day after drinking it. I also don’t miss that jittery/nervous feeling I’d get sometimes. And of course, if I drank coffee too late in the day, it too would mess with sleep quality.

I think it’s a big difference, especially when one cuts out many of these things, it adds up. A few years ago, it would’ve been inconceivable to me to quit espresso drinks. lol.

Are you thinking about quitting anything? Try it! :)
