Someone recently commented that God's prohibition on eating meat w/ blood in it pointed to the pre-flood world being filled with people who literally ate other humans alive.

Maybe! The world was described as completely, totally wicked, and this certainly enters the imagination.

I think it's much more tangible a reason--to limit offending Jewish Christians' sensibilities as the 'wall of separation' between them and the Gentiles was coming down, and as the 'old' (Mosaic system) was passing away. 🤙

There was at least plant death before the fall, and unless there were post-fall genetic changes in some predators, there was likely purposeful animal death as well...

The wording “life-blood” makes me think eating something alive. Regardless if it’s human or an animal.
