Mum’s an Austrian who spoke only German at home for a bulk of my childhood and sent us over to her parents in Bern every-other summer until they moved here when I was teen. Somehow managed to keep most of my German thanks to family. ❤️

It's more a Germanic-thing than a German-thing. We're trying to find a spot that's sort of middle-ish, so that nobody has to drive too far.
