What a loser. There’s very few things better than freeing your wife from the corporate world.
That attitude isn't love, and in fact I'd strongly suspect he's already found a new plaything and is just looking for an excuse to dump his wife. It isn't clear from the context, but I generally don't trust the intentionally childless.
