Considering an ebike for occasional commuting to my new job.
One of the routes I could take home has a 45%+ grade hill.
Any ebike advice for my research? Pros/cons/warnings/brands/etc.
(Obviously, I'll want good torque.)

oof thats crazy steep. I dont think id be comfortable on the descent, but that ascent would be brutal. any alternate routes? how long is that hill?
the more i think about this, id probably choose to walk the bike up and down that kind of hill, so that could be an option to lessen the demands of what an ebike could support.
how long would your commute be, and how much of that involves this stretch?
That particular hill is 240' of incline over 0.9 miles. Angle of elevation is 26.7°
I have two other routes, all about 3.5-4.5 miles.
It's uphill any routes, the others are more forgiving. This one is just the most direct.
That seems more like a 5% grade (240/(5280*0.9) * 100) which is much more manageable. Even with an ebike you are doing some of the work, and I figure any ebike should support this.
