I'd be happy to trade notes. I'm getting about 1 km in urban areas and at least 3 km in more rural areas.

I'm concerned that the current sensing might be a drain on the batteries when there's no power coming in. It'll take more testing to determine that for sure. It takes a while to make a dent in the charge level on this battery pack...

Yeah it looks pretty beefy. I have 2 3000mah batts with 5w solar and it is keeping up for the last couple weeks. I believe the bluetooth was draining the batts before, just turned it off. I have been picking up a lot of mesh nodes on planes lately!

You can just flip on the BT via remote administration as long as you have that set up, right?

A word of warning about OTA updates: the warning at the top of the page is legit! I rendered the node on my roof inoperable (a USB flash got it back up and running). Probably packet loss, but hard to know for sure. I'll keep experimenting to try to figure out what can make it more reliable.

Point being: think twice if you're going to update a node where you can't easily get physical access in the event it fails.

Im a newb with these things so i don’t really know a lot about them yet just experimenting with them
