1) Free Azolla, I can get a few gallons a week from my 8x4 pond. This will compost on its own so I need to be careful not to heat the worm bin too much.

2) Aquaponics biochar, biochar that has been filtering my aquaponics system, infused with nutrients.

3) Regular food scraps.

I’m using a 20 gallon trash can, holes drilled in the top with a screen to prevent insects from going in. I have a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled all over. The trash can has biochar, mixture at the bottom to absorb worm castings.

I’ll fill up the 5 gallon bucket, when full remove that (should contain the worms). Remove some material and carry on.
