Chicago soybean and corn futures eased on Thursday as an advancing U.S. harvest underscored ample global supplies while weaker oil prices raised concern about global demand. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) projects that Illinois farmers will harvest an average of 198 bushels per acre of corn in 2023, which is 16 bushels per acre lower than the final estimate for 2022. However, field canvassers from Bloomington-based agricultural cooperative GROWMARK have gathered data that paints a different picture.
