As much as I side with the sentiment, what organization has the right to decide what is to be not allowed? Perhaps there is a legit use case for that sort of trust. I dunno.
I say caveat emptor.
Find encryption without back doors... And use it. And be responsible for continually verifying it.
Or don't.
I think this sides against people trying to make non-backdoored encryption illegal.
For context, for those who do not know (maybe you do know, but not everyone does).
The European Union is a thing.
The Council of Europe is another thing.
Both organizations are groups of countries in Europe (which is just a geographical area), but they are not the same organization.
In practice, no country has ever joined the EU without first belonging to the Council of Europe.
The European Court of Human Rights is not an entity of the EU. The ECHR is an institution of the Council of Europe.
Chat Control is a EU thing.
