I get complaints about SQLite database speed of my telegram lightning tip bot, takes a minute to respond when it’s busy. Especially when 200 people start spamming faucets like today 😂
nostr taught me that sql is actually slow as balls, or maybe that everything is slower than lmdb
According to benchmarks at https://github.com/fiatjaf/eventstore my LMDB-based store is 4000x faster than SQLite.
Woah. No wonder SQL alternatives have been so popular in recent years.
SQLite has always been nothing but awful to me.
"You don't know how to use it", they say, and now suddently the entire world of web development loves SQLite and is pushing SQLite from many different directions.
But it does look like that if you're trying to access it from multiple concurrent requests it will behave much worse than normally.
